We are extremely grateful to the men and women who serve in the United States Military. We also recognize that they and their families make many incredible sacrifices to ensure the citizens of the United States and people around the world live safer, freer lives.
In recognition of their service, Picture A Hero works with designated staff / volunteers within the military to arrange portrait sessions for service members / families preparing to deploy.
When a person connected to a unit in any branch of the military contacts Picture A Hero, we identify possible dates for portrait sessions and dates for sendoff and departure ceremonies. We do our best, based on schedules and funding, to accommodate every request for our service.
When possible, Picture A Hero spends as many days as is necessary at a particular location to ensure all interested families have access to a portrait session. Each session last approx. 45 minutes. Picture A Hero takes portraits of each person in the family alone, each person with the soldier alone, and family portraits. We also take portraits of each child with both parents, alone. Families can take portraits on any or all of the 5 - 6 backdrops set up as well as outdoors, as time allows.
At sendoffs and departures Picture A Hero attempts to take portraits of every interested service member alone, with every person in their group and group photos. We also take candids during the ceremonies, which are available to the units, service members and families via Picasa.
After the ceremony/departure each service member / family receives a DVD containing the digital file for every photo taken of the service member / family.
Picture A Hero also emails the service member / families a Picasa link to a secure album of their personal images that can be shared with other family and friends.
Picture A Hero provides service members, their families and friends with an copyright release for all personal uses of Picture A Hero images.
