Help Picture A Hero
Photograph Ashlyn's Heroes!!!
|
Ashlyn Sophia Makowski Shogren Smith spent much of her life in a battle to live- and she fought this battle fiercely and bravely. She loved every service member she met- she was very thankful for our military and shook the hand of as many of our country's warriors as she could.
Ashlyn (the daughter of Susan Shogren Smith and sister of Charlotte and Hannah) loved Picture A Hero. She couldn't travel to the photography sessions put on by Picture A Hero but she helped print DVDs and pick photos for our website. She so enjoyed looking through the portraits of the military families. She referred to the service members as the "Hubba hubba soldiers" and was quick to point out which service members were the cutest at each location.
On November 16, 2013 Ashlyn could no longer engage in her battle to live- she passed away, completely at peace. Before she passed away she told Susan she wanted us to take pictures of military families (actually, she signed "hubba hubbas and their families") and especially take pictures of the service members with their children.
We have been thankful for the donations made to Picture A Hero in memory of Ashlyn: To date the donations will provide portraits to just over 100 families!

Please help us provide portraits to our service members in honor of Ashlyn!!
All donations are tax deductible. Susan, Charlotte and Hannah volunteer their time so all donations go to pay for the actual expenses of providing these portraits to out service members at no cost (equipment, travel and lodging, DVD's...) A donation of $30.00 provides portraits to one family. To date, donations in memory of Ashlyn will provide portraits to just over 100 military families.
